Aiming high to achieve what matters most: Connection; Communication and Mutual Respect

Back To Reality And A Star Magnet: 7-24-11

Back To Reality And A Star Magnet: 7-24-11

By Jill Edelman . 12:41 pm

Sunday’s Farewell: The weekend family frolic is ending and we will soon board the ferry back to reality. I don’t know if the other mother picked up the list of household/ kitchen items and went off to shop. Or if measurements were taken with the intention to purchase the flat screen television for the living room. Or perhaps it remains as last viewed when the red couch arrived.

Star Magnet: A party we attended had some stars, like movie stars. Our daughter is an aficionado of film, theater and music. She knows her stars. And now some of them know her. Her uncontrived interest, honesty and hilarious humor draw even the wary famous to her. She is a star magnet. Everyone is stunned by her seamless entry into a world folk die to join. Someone is taking her to a Katy Perry concert. How did that happen? The girl just emits a powerful glow irresistible to even those who have trod the red carpet and stood posing in the glare of the Hollywood lights.

Down To The Wire: One more week remains before Ms. Personality Plus moves out. I am a little scared. I don’t know how this is going to feel, her not living home yet not living far away. Transition, thy name is life.
