Saturday 11:30 a.m. ” I want to do Angelfish with Cindy this summer”. Our daughter appears to be ready to leave her school for good! Wow. She proudly announce this decision before noon today via cell phone.
“I need to work this summer!”
Tempted But Controlled: I was briefly tempted to review that both Angelfish and Pegasus would not constitute a full week of programming, but I stopped myself. Talk about introducing more confusion and not showing respect for her decision-making prowess. Her responses were consistent. Time has never been our daughter’s forte though she follows daily schedules beautifully, and is super clear on the details of the activities and who is going. To embark on a conversation about the small number of hours that these two programs might take up in a summer week, compared to full time activity at her school camp, would have so missed the mark.
She is Ready to Begin the Next Chapter: The momentum is there. I can hear it. Kudos to this brave young lady. You can’t help but just adore her, top to bottom. She is soooooo smart. She knows what she wants. Just give her the time to think about it. And as long as we are listening, it usually works out.
My Role: Fill in the blanks, and see if we can get our deposit back.
But as Scarlet said: “I’ll think about that tomorrow”.
