Aiming high to achieve what matters most: Connection; Communication and Mutual Respect

Easter Sunday With Our Daughter: 4-24-11

Easter Sunday With Our Daughter: 4-24-11

By Jill Edelman . 7:17 am

Eight Hours Roundtrip: Our daughter has invited us to spend Sunday with her. She has planned the entire day. In consultation with her dorm counselors, her own excellent internet skills and keen eye for shopping possibilities and eateries, she has picked a new locale for her folks to visit with her.

Empowered and Proud: You could hear her pride and excitement when she called two weeks ago to ask us to come up on Easter Sunday. Clearly other families, especially those who live closer to the school, are spending the holiday with their daughters and sons in more traditional ways. Our daughter has designed a day of sharing that is loving and fun. She takes charge and all we need to do is show up, do the driving and help with some of the funding.

And I might put together a basket of marshmallow chicks and chocolate bunnies. Why not?
